I don't think anyone in the quiz I took part in had even heard of Record Store Day.
According to its own website, "Record Store Day is the one day of the year when over 200 independent record shops all across the UK come together to celebrate their unique culture." The American site tells us that it also links in to Black Friday in November, "[giving] record stores exclusive releases as part of the attempt to redirect the focus of the biggest shopping day of the year to the desirable, special things to be found at local stores."
According to Wikipedia, Record Store Day was "officially founded" in 2007, but "inaugurated" in 2008. This presumably means that the event was first held in 2008.
The next Record Store Day is Saturday 13 April 2019.
